Best of 2018
I hope you and your loved ones had a very, merry Christmas and are looking forward to a happy New Year! With only a few more days in 2018, I thought I’d share some of my favorite “best of” things, places and events in Greenville, South Carolina. Enjoy!
“Best of” Restaurant
Everyone is talking about Jianna, and for good reason. The restaurant is located downtown and overlooks Falls Park. It boasts a modern Italian menu that includes oysters, hand rolled pasta, char-grilled octopus, potato gnocchi, Italian cheeses, and artisanal spirits and wines. Ingredients are sourced fresh from farmers and artisans throughout the Upstate, and renowned chef Michael Kramer is known to add an innovative twist to each dish. I seriously haven’t met anyone who hasn’t enjoyed their experience at Jianna.
“Best of” Thing to Do
It likely won’t surprise you that I’m going to talk about the Swamp Rabbit Trail here. If you haven’t cycled down the trail from Greenville to Travelers Rest lately, please do it again soon. If you enjoy an alcoholic beverage, please make sure to stop for one at Birds Fly South Ale Project (at around the half way mark) and another at the Swamp Rabbit Brewery & Taproom in Travelers Rest. If you don’t have a bike of your own to make the trek, you can rent one from several places, including Reedy Rides in Downtown Greenville or SRT Bike Shop just past Downtown.
“Best of” Festival
Fall for Greenville has become the quintessential outdoor festival if the Southeast. The family-friendly three-day event includes lots of food from more than 40 local restaurants serving some 250-plus dishes. There is also free entertainment on seven stages along Downtown Greenville’s Main Street, with an impressive music lineup of over 70 acts. Guests can sample wines, learn about local beers, and watch some of the best regional chefs show off their chops in exciting demos.
“Best of” Sporting Event
It’s hard to beat a nice summer evening in a baseball park. The Greenville Drive is a minor league Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Its home park is Fluor Field in Greenville’s West End, a stadium that was recognized by StadiumJourney.com as the 68th best stadium experience in college and professional sports in 2014. The 2019 season starts off on April 4, 2019 with West Virginia – which means first pitch is only a few months away!
In addition to my work as a realtor agent with Keller Williams Real Estate, at the top of my list is enjoying all that Greenville, South Carolina has to offer. I hope to see you out and about enjoying this great city throughout the year to come!
