Visitors, we love you. But stay away!
It’s a difficult time. There’s a lot of fear and uncertainty. We don’t know where we’ll be in a few weeks—or even months. But there’s one thing I’m sure of… I’m proud of how Greenville, SC, has responded to COVID-19.
Greenville, South Carolina, has developed quite a reputation as a tourist destination. And I think I speak for most locals when I say that we love it. We love showing off our city and everything it has to offer. We love welcoming newcomers and visitors, and we’re grateful for everything tourism mean to our city.
But for now… visitors, please stay away.
The COVID-19 pandemic has swept our nation swiftly, and no where has been spared—not even Greenville, South Carolina. That being said, I’m proud of how our city has responded.
There were just a few cases of COVID-19 in the county when Greenville City Council mandated restaurants and bars to close dining areas and instead offer curbside and drive-thru service only. Parks and fitness areas were also closed, along with schools and preschools. Gatherings of more than a few people were discouraged. These measures alone have been significant to managing the spread of the virus in our community.
And I, for one, am grateful.
Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise, but I know we’ll get through it.
So for now, let’s hunker down, stay at home, and stay safe.
I’ll see you in person on the other side—but check back here every other week for more top posts about owning a home in Greenville, SC.
